The Cularis can be built as either a pure sailplane or powered with a Himax 3522-700 outrunner motor available in the power set #240133. The Cularis is a "Full House" sailplane with four servos in the wing, with two individual ailerons and flaps each. This allows high-end performance similar to sailplanes that cost 3 times as much.

If built unpowered, it is capable of being hi-started or hand-launched on a slope. You're not stuck, however, if you want to change the configuration later as you can switch back and forth from powered to unpowered easily.
